Intro

Hello cyber world.  this blog will, from time to time, talk of many things: politics, grammar, language, and to be an outlet for some of the things that really bug me.  I will welcome any comments, praises, or criticisms you wish to offer.

Here are a couple of rants to start things out.

Why can't most people seem to have learned that the words "there, their and they"re are not interchangeable?  "There" means in that location.  "their" means belonging to them, and "they're" means they are.  In the same vein, "its" means belonging to it, while, "it's" means it is.  So simple, so please get it right.  Also, almost everyone  uses the word "less" incorrectly.  "Less" is a singular modifier:  e.g. I have less time than you, or, They have traveled less that you.   The correct plural modifier is "fewer": There are fewer cars on the road today, or, we have fewer people on our team.  Please stop saying things like " He was laying prone on the ground staring at the clouds." Prone" means lying face down.  "Supine means lying face up.  Ok, enough for now.  I 'd love to hear of some of your pet peeves, gripes and concerns on any subject.  Daval.
